Lakshman Jhula Rishikesh,The Suspension Bridge

Lakshman Jhula Rishikesh,The Suspension Bridge

“It is said that Lakshman crossed Ganges on jute ropes between the place where this bridge is built.Lakshman Jhula was completed in 1929.There are spectacular views from the bridge.”

Lakshman Jhula is an iron suspension bridge situated in Rishikesh in Indian state of Uttarakhand . It is made over river Ganges to cross the river and is a landmark of Rishikesh. A similar bridge near Lakshman Jhula is Ram Jhula.

This place is 33km from Haridwar. I went their second time with my family. At the time of our Nainital tour in the year 2011.we visited Lakshman Jhula,But felt bad that now even motor bikes are allowed on the bridge which were not before.

Though it was our very big tour, Nainital tour. After traveling so many places when We arrived there We were feeling tired. When we saw the bridge first time it was 2006 & now it’s 2011.the place is little changed.

We went on the top of the 13th floor temple which was beside, from there Laxman Jhula was looking more beautiful.

At the temple of 13th floor, each floor had different Hindu temple but reaching at the top was a heavenly feeling.

At the time of Durga Puja we went there. It’s a very religious place.
