The story of two islands Ross and North Bay

Hello guys I hope you are like our first and second day of journey. Today‘s story is about two Islands. These Islands are main attraction of the Andaman tour. The weather was sunny on that day. After having breakfast we were reached in Rajiv Gandhi sports complex within 9 AM. It’s good to know one thing about this place is that to move one island to another island only conveyance is boat and this boat is traveled on open sea and that area is controlled by the government, so if the weather condition is inconvenient then the boat service is totally closed. We were hired a boat in advanced.
The boat fare is 700 rs per person. This boat is also covered the rose island in this money which in located at North Sea. Our boat name is sea razor, it’s a 10 seated boat. The group is also accompanied by a guide who briefs you about the islands history during your travel.

The journey to the Island is exciting, if not less. Now,We are talking about why the Island is famous, The North Bay Island is only famous for different activities like scuba diving, glass boat, snorkeling . Rose Island has a historical identity we knew it after some time. We began with the journey to North Bay Island at 9 am.

“Activities in North Bay Island..”

Scuba dive is a much better option if one has wanted a close look at the marine life. The corals at North Bay are rather good and spread over large area. You’re very likely to spot many fishes, lobsters, or even clams on the coral reef. When we were at North Bay, it was time to relax and enjoying that moment.
In addition, new activities such has Dolphin Glass boat ride and Coral Safari Semi Submarine are also operational. Honestly, in 2013 one just had a couple of options for water activities in North Bay, however, these days one has a lot to do in North Bay and the professionalism has just gone up. Thanks to Andaman tourism and all the operators who have worked hard to make it happen.

Note : Yess, i never Knew the 20 rupee note has the picture of North Bay islands on the rear side along with the North Point lighthouse depicted in it.

The morning was very bright so the high probability to see the corals. We were spent some time after reaching an island, the yellow coconut is very famous in Andaman, it’s also called king coconut in Andaman, many gifts shop are available and it’s reasonable also. After some time we went to see coral via glass boat, the coral is clearly visible because of sunny weather. Different type of coral one can see here.

Almost we were spending 45 minutes and came back to North Sea. The weather became cloudy after sometimes. The best part of Andaman is fickle weather, sometimes its change sunny to cloudy or cloudy to sunny.

We came from North Bay Island to Rose Island by speed boat while the drizzle was starting over the Indian Ocean,it was an enchanted feelings.
The sight of Rose Island is totally different from North Bay Island. The official name of the rose island is Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island and it’s put in the entrance of the island. In 1943 Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose had hosting the Tri Colour in this Island.
In this island one can also see the light house which can easily see just paying the twenty rupees only. One can see the light house from mount Harriet, which is the highest peak in south Andaman.

The Japanese bunker was put in the entry of the island which was borrowing the Japanese from British at World War 2. The battery cars are available for covered up the area. We were covered the 2km on left side of island by this car. The area is occupied by the wreckage like club, house etc, which were established by the bristh ruler,It sighted when we were enjoyed our journey by battery car. The peacock, deer and other animals are in the islands that are very amiable so tourist can take a picture with them.

“Sky Above, Sand below, Peace within”

The entire Island is tenanted around 4km. the light house are there in the top of the island. After completed the entire area the car was reached at starting point. Now we were explored the right side of the island by foot. The few restaurants are located in right side,it’s pricey. In right side after covering 800 m the Netaji Museum are located. It was open. Museum is at edge of the sea. The museum is isolated so it’s a good place for spending time, the museum has one room. We were spent some time there. The middle area is using for altar. When we saw the Indian flag in this place its really proud of us.This island makes one nostalgic and takes you back in time when this was an administrative settlement for the Britishers. The Indian Navy has rebuilt some of the old buildings like the bakery and the local stores, from where souvenirs are available. We returned the Rajiv Gandhi sports complex after 20 minute. 3 day of our journey is end at that point. The next day we will share the story of Havelock which is one of the main attractions of Andaman.

This is a lovely place to tour if one wants to make a day out it by traversing for hours amidst its historical importance. Ross Island was the headquarters of the British colony. The Islands century old trees have captured few important landmarks by its wild vines, roots, and trunks like the Officers’ Quarters and rundown Church of the British times.
