One fine Day, most probably one morning of September, We saw an advertisement in news paper, where it was written about tour to “Purulia”. Purulia tour is getting ready for the most enthusiastic weather that is “winter” for which travelers are being asked to visit.
From the first, after reading the news, my heart began to pop up very merrily and decided when to go.But on the start, our journey started very late due to the inconvenience faced by us during the hotel booking, So according to our suggestion, you should book a hotel first before arriving there.
Puruliya is a place,mainly known for its peculiarity regarding nature Ajodhya hills, which is a popular tourist spot of Purulia. Since our tour was on December, but we booked hotel before the Puja started. I was wasting for a long time for this tour.
According to me the planing of trip with all favorable conditions being on our side is a very great thing.. Therefore this type of trip comes very rarely with all conditions being perfect..And now starts the actual story. We didn’t got train first, and therefor we had to wait for the Tatkal, or otherwise we have to board on next day’s train. But luckily we got the tickets from Tatkal just before our journey, and therefore for that reason we reached 6hr earlier in Purulia..
Since our plan for Chirstams the sight scene near the day after we reached. but we got some extra time more to know about purulia. Again according to my opinion, if it is a family tour then you should return back after seeing the sight scene from the station. And if it is with friends, then I would rather suggest that make a tent near the Ajodhya hills. and spare some moments there. Both experience are different but its really awesome.
As my trip was with my family,for that we took a hotel near the station. We arrived there around 7am. and took our refreshments. then finally went out.
We hired one auto. As far I knew the city Purulia has changed a lot. Firstly my eyes got stucked to a very namely and famous supermarket where everyday’s things we bought. Then again further going we saw a beautiful “Ram Mandir”.
After we visited again we moved further and noticed city center. And yes we did not thought the city center near our lodge rather it near just a fine step ahead of our lodge. As that day we had no intention of having sight scene. So, we enjoyed a Sample amount of time there. As we went on the vary auspicious time of Chirstmas. City center was will decorated ans we got to spend time in Big Bazar and o Yes I forgot, we went to a movie theater “Inox” and enjoyed a Bengali drama and finally moved to our lodge after having our lunch.
After taking rest we went to the near by Chowk market.. Since it was December but it was rarely so cold. It was a very busy market. As I saw, you can get everything, mean daily use items, After sometime we returned to our lodge for the next days morning sight scene.
The main attraction of our lodge was the terrace which was the top floor and Marriage reception Hall and that day also some marriage party was there. Our hotel manager Mr Arun was very cooperative and friendly with us…

Shopping – Charida village is the main and prime attraction of shopping. We bought 2 masks from there. Souvenir starts from Rs 15 only and all are the so famous special handmade products in India.

4. Learn to make stunning, theatrical masks for your home from Charida village artist.
5. Visit the Haunted village Begunkodor.
