Sandakphu Diary, Tumling to Sandakphu

This is the 3rd day of our Sandakphu trek. On this day we were traveling from Tumling to Sandakphu. Hight wise Sandakphu is over the top of Tumling. We started our journey at 9’ o clock. Road condition was very bad on the way of Sandakphu.

We first visited Singalela Forest permission has to be sought to enter this forest from that way we started our destination to Sandakphu the Singalela National Park. From here you will get the most exotic scenic view of the Everast, Kanchenjunga and few more peaks of great Himalaya.

After same distance from Sandakphu there was Kalipokhra Lake.

Kalipokhra: –
This is the beautiful travel destination of Sandakphu.
It’s a Himalayan lake.
In that place weather are changes very quickly. Its lies on the tracking route from Mane Bhanjan to Sandakphu. The word Phokhri means lake and kala means dark in nepali and village is named after local lake with dark water or a lake whose water dark in colour.

Some portion of the lake is under the Nepal border. In this place you won’t get any residence. This is the best holiday destination for youngsters.
360 degree view of Sandakphu
We arrived at 3 p.m. at Sandakphu. Last few 3-4 km of the road covered with snow. The distance between Tumling and Sandakphu around 12 km. This place is cooler than Tumling. Our hotel’s name was Sherpa chalet. After having lunch we saw few peaks from this area we could see 360 degree view.

The most important point is that mobile and camera don’t work at this place. So backup is also important. Sandakphu is the highest place of West Bengal. So the weather is very cold. During the low temperature, you could only eat dry food. During season time you must book hotel in advance otherwise you may face problems.
